What is the #1 priority in life for a christian?

This question, could bring many potential answers to mind, such as: evangelism, Bible study, or fellowship. However, there is one thing in the Christian life upon which everything else depends - PRAYER!

Attempting to live your life without prayer is like ironing your clothes each day, but never plugging the iron in! Deciding that you don't have time for prayer, is like deciding that you don't have time to stop and put gas in your car - then driving until it runs out, and pushing it to your destination! Prayer is your lifeline to God, it's your #1 priority each day, and it's impossible to be successful without it. If you don't spend time each day in prayer, then it should not be a mystery as to why your life feels powerless up against the trials of this fallen world - You can never live beyond your prayer life.

Jesus Christ said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."(John 15:5)

Everyone knows what will happen if you stop eating - your body will die. But, what about your spirit?

"The bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry." (John 6:33-35)

Prayer is simple, it's interacting with God, talking, listening and sometimes just waiting quietly in His presence. Worship and prayer should overlap, your prayers should be worshipful and your worship should be prayerful. Jesus Christ is our source, prayer is the way we receive from that source, and find peace to overcome stress.

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."(Matt 6:31 & 33)
